Where is Setra Model 225 used?

Model 225 is designed for pressure measurement in systems where process purity, stable measurement and contamination control are important. Potential applications include:

  • High-purity and specialty-gas delivery.
  • Gas cabinets and distribution panels.
  • Valve manifold boxes and integrated gas systems.
  • Gas sticks and semiconductor process equipment.
  • Purge-gas delivery and process-chamber pressure.
  • Ultra-clean control and monitoring systems.

Not every configuration is suitable for every gas or process. The correct version is determined by pressure type, range, medium, material compatibility, connection, output and the requirements of the complete gas or process installation.

Designed for high-purity gas measurement

According to Setra’s current product information, Model 225 has a low internal cavity volume. This helps minimise particle entrapment and supports purging of the sensor. Wetted parts are made from 316L VIM/VAR stainless steel, and every sensor is mass-spectrometer helium leak tested.

The series is available with face-seal process connections designed around common semiconductor gas-delivery requirements. Other fitting styles are also available. A rotatable cover provides access to zero and span adjustment and supports practical integration and commissioning.

Pressure types and electrical integration

Depending on configuration, Model 225 can measure gauge, compound or absolute pressure. Setra lists 5 VDC and 10 VDC voltage outputs and a 4–20 mA current output. Electrical termination is available through cable or connector options.

The capacitive sensing technology converts movement of the stainless-steel diaphragm into a linear electrical signal. Setra positions the design for stable measurement and strong immunity to EMI/RFI effects, helping to limit unwanted disruption in equipment and control systems.

Specification and selection

For technically correct selection or replacement, please provide:

  • Process gas and material-compatibility requirements.
  • Pressure type and normal measuring range.
  • Maximum process pressure and possible overpressure.
  • Process connection and required fitting.
  • Electrical output, supply and termination.
  • Purity, cleanroom and purging requirements.
  • Ambient temperature and mounting position.
  • Existing Setra model number or customer specification.

No product property should be used separately from the complete Setra configuration. TE Instrumentation reviews the application and helps define the model code and relevant options.

Setra Model 225 in the semiconductor cluster

Model 225 is the primary UHP pressure transducer in Setra’s semiconductor proposition. Model ASL may be relevant to high-accuracy low-differential-pressure and leak-test applications. Model 270 can be considered for precision barometric, absolute or gauge-pressure measurement. Thermo Electric spike and profile thermocouples support temperature profiling in semiconductor equipment.
