Besta Level Switches and Products
Trimod Besta products are used for level detection, level monitoring and continuous level measurement in industrial liquid processes. The portfolio includes Besta level switches, float switches, level transmitters, magnetic level indicators and related accessories.

Besta level switches
A Besta level switch detects a defined liquid level and may be used for high- or low-level alarms, pump control, overfill protection, dry-running protection or process monitoring. The modular Trimod construction allows different process connections, floats and switch modules to be combined.
The range includes standard, industrial, plastic and special versions. Selection depends not only on the required switching point but also on liquid density, process pressure, temperature, mounting position, material compatibility and electrical function.
Besta float switches
Float switches may be used for point-level detection or for several switching points in one tank. Trimod Besta offers bilge switches, single-point level switches, multi-level float switches and other float-switch configurations. Check the permitted mounting, minimum density, pressure, temperature and material combination for the selected product.
Level transmitters, level sensors and indicators
Level transmitters provide continuous level measurement. Magnetic level indicators provide local visual indication, while BLS level sensors form a separate product route. These products perform different functions from a level switch and should not be treated as technical synonyms.
State whether the application requires a switching point, continuous output or local indication. This prevents a level switch, level transmitter or level sensor being selected on the search term alone.
Besta A 01 041 and A 01 04
The Besta A 01 041 belongs to the electric standard range. Current manufacturer information lists a fixed operating differential of 12 mm for this version. The related A 01 04 can additionally be used with G1, G2 and G3 rod extensions.
Do not use A 01 041 and A 01 04 as interchangeable shortened descriptions. The complete type code defines the switch module, process connection, float, materials and any approval. Always provide a nameplate photograph and, where available, the existing datasheet or drawing.

Besta ATEX and IECEx level switches
Trimod Besta offers configurations for hazardous areas. The manufacturer distinguishes hermetically sealed, intrinsically safe and pneumatic level switches. The applicable ATEX, IECEx or other Ex marking depends on the selected type range, switch module, installation and current certificate revision.
A broad description such as “Besta ATEX level switch” is therefore not enough for selection. State the zone, protection concept, gas group, temperature class, ambient conditions, process conditions and preferred type code. Selecting a Besta level switch
For a new application, provide:
- the function: alarm, pump control, overfill protection or dry-running protection;
- the liquid, minimum density and any contamination or crystallisation;
- normal and maximum pressure and temperature;
- mounting position, available installation space and process connection;
- switching function, contact load or required output signal;
- material requirements;
- required Ex, SIL, PED or marine approval.

For a focused quotation, provide the process conditions and required function. For replacement, include the type number, a nameplate photograph and details of the existing connection.
